Old thread but it's always nice to see what everyone is tinkering away with in the workshop/kitchen/living room or wherever you play with your tools…..and no that's not an innuendo.

Here is my winter/hipster/nice bike/budget build, the frame arrived this morning.

Still to do: convert wheel to a front and get all the missing bits I need!

Looks pretty finished to me. I like the yard sale look. Completed bikes are overrated.

Ha, I hope it doesn't come to that!

Basically anything not in the photo is needed, 3/32 sprocket + chain, seat post + stem etc. if anyone sees a nice non-machined rear wheel for sale let me know please! No real rush as the weather is crap and I am trying to wait for the bargains.

The photo was inspired by ones from lfgss, it took hours to get the lighting right to create such a distinctive effect…

I'm going to use the 52 chainring so that would give me approx 80inches I guess that is a BIG step up from the 69inches I am currently using?

But yeh if your trying to get rid of it I would be happy to give it a try! I will give it back if I cant handle it :)

yes.

anyway, you can use 1/8 chain with 3/32 on front and 1/8 on back. it's fine. so don't panic mr mannering, just pick up a cheapo 8th pitch sprocket in the size you want, leave 53 on front.

it will be a 19 i imagine. or you may want to change the front? if it's 144 i have 48t. if 130 i have 42t.

if any of that makes sense let me know.

Cool, i didn't know if they were compatible. Yes I am planning to have a 19t on the back. It mostly made sense, I spend my evenings swotting up on fixed gear trivia. Thanks again for info

you can run 1/8 sprocket with 3/32 chainring, as long as you use an 1/8 pitch chain.

The guy said there was alot of interest suddenly (after pj had posted the link) I just gave him a call and said I would have it, it was a bit of a bargain I think.

If you're still trying to get rid of it I'll gladly take it for possible use on a pile of rust I'm trying to turn into something resemblng a bike, or if that fails for the TDO Bike Project group build bike.

Can collect. I live in the Weatherspoons on Church Rd. Except for Christmas day when I go on holiday to the doorway of Greggs.
