Anyone got any recommendations for bike computers on the budget end of the scale?

I have no knowledge of what they are capable of or what might be useful other than speed and distance. Are there any particular features that people think are worth having?

Tempted to just go for the Knog one as I might be able to get it cheap. Is it ok / anyone got one?

graham has one and he likes it because it's easy to move about.

i have cateye wireless ones; the strada is brilliant. i think i got it secondhand somewhere for £25.

I have a Knog Nerd aswell, I like it for the same easy to move reasons, although since I have fitted it, I have never moved it. Maybe I like it because I think it looks cool?

Thanks.

Do the Knogs stay in place well enough?

Would like the cadence function on the Strada but can't really justify the cost when really I only need the mileage to make sure I'm less likely to get lost trying to follow maps and directions as my sense of distance isn't great.

+ being able to swap between two bikes easily would be useful.

Just worried that the fitting would be slack or break. One of my Knog lights is splitting in under a year of use, but they get used and removed a lot more I guess.

My stem and fork are quite skinny so the 'rubber band' looped bit is only just tight enough, but as the rubber is fairly grippy it seems to just about stay in place!

ive been tempted by the knog too. the 12 function one has a backlight (i think) which would be useful come winter as i tend to ride to and from work in the dark.

i'll second and in fact third on the cateye strada wireless.  one on my mtb and one on my commuter.  pretty much perfect.  (and i don't have the cadence version, so it's not too pricey).

got one of these on my fixed:

I had a Knog for a few months on my road bike, it wasnt keen on the british weather and stopped working. I have now got a Cateye wireless which is excellent.

recently bought one of these

from Rutland Cycling on fleabay.  It's gash.  It claims that mrs jezzzer can hit 99.9km/h going down the wellsway on her mtb.  she reckons it's all down to the new slick tyres … I think that the only thing stopping her hitting 999.9km/h is the lack of further digits.

The bike shop i work at sells Sigma computers and i bought one just before leaving for my trip to see how long i ride while im over here. It is super simple and it was quite cheap, even without staff discount. wireless and everything. I would recommend one of these.
